Vice Chair - Sarah Wynn

Role Purpose

The Vice chair has a pivotal part in providing leadership and stability within the club’s management structure. Acting as a trusted deputy to the chairperson, the vice chair steps in whenever the chair is unavailable and ensures that the club’s operations, values, and ambitions remain on track. Their role is to foster collaboration, uphold the club’s constitution and the FA Respect Code, and nurture a positive, inclusive environment for players, parents, volunteers, and the wider community.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supporting Leadership: Assist the chairperson in all aspects of club governance, strategy, and decision-making, ensuring continuity and effective leadership.

  • Stepping In as Chair: Lead meetings and represent the club when the chairperson is absent, maintaining order and focus during discussions or events.

  • Oversight of Committees: Provide guidance and direction to club committees, such as events, fundraising, or youth development, ensuring activities align with club objectives and values.

  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Uphold best practices in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, working closely with welfare officers and ensuring all club members are treated with respect and care.

  • Upholding Policies and Codes: Promote and monitor adherence to key policies, including the FA Respect Code, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies, and the club’s own rules and constitution.

  • Community Engagement: Strengthen relationships with local organisations, schools, sponsors, and supporters, enhancing the club’s community presence and reputation.

  • Supporting Volunteers and Members: Recognise and encourage the efforts of all volunteers, providing support and guidance to help them fulfil their own roles effectively.

  • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in disputes, promoting open communication and seeking fair, respectful outcomes.

  • Event Support: Collaborate with the events organiser and other committee members to ensure club events, meetings, and fundraising activities run smoothly and successfully.

  • Succession Planning: Help identify and mentor future leaders, ensuring the sustainability and ongoing success of the club.
