Catering Manager - Will Quirk

Role Purpose
The catering manager plays a crucial part in ensuring the club provides high-quality food and beverage services at all times, contributing to the overall experience for players, families, volunteers, and guests. The purpose of this role is to oversee the planning, preparation, and delivery of refreshments and meals at club events, matches, and daily operations, while upholding excellent standards of hygiene, service, and club spirit.
Role Responsibilities
Menu Planning and Food Preparation: Design and update menus to cater for players, supporters, and visitors, ensuring a variety of healthy and appealing options. Supervise and participate in the preparation of food and beverages for matches, training days, tournaments, and social events.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and coordinate catering volunteers or staff, ensuring all team members follow food safety and customer service best practices.
Stock and Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of food and drink supplies, monitor stock levels, and manage orders to prevent shortages or waste. Ensure all items are appropriately stored and within expiry dates.
Budgeting and Procurement: Work with club officials to set catering budgets, source suppliers, and negotiate competitive pricing, ensuring all purchases are cost-effective and adhere to club policies.
Health, Safety, and Hygiene: Implement and enforce strict hygiene and food safety standards across all catering operations, conducting regular checks and maintaining necessary certifications and records.
Event Support: Plan and coordinate catering for special events such as tournaments, community gatherings, and fundraisers, including setup, service, and clean-up, working closely with the events organiser and other club officials.
Customer Service: Provide a welcoming, friendly, and efficient service to all club members and visitors, handling feedback and resolving issues promptly to enhance the club’s reputation.
Promoting Club Values: Foster a positive club atmosphere by supporting inclusivity, healthy eating, and sustainability in all catering activities, and representing the club’s ethos in every interaction.
With strong organisational skills and a commitment to high standards, the catering manager ensures the smooth running of the club’s food and beverage services, allowing everyone to enjoy events and matches in a comfortable and supportive environment.
