Welfare Officer - Haley Godridge

Role Purpose
To be clear about the clubs responsibilities when running activities for children and young people ensuring these responsibilities are understood by others
Role Responsibilities
Work with the Youth League Welfare Officer (YLWO) and the County FA Welfare Officer
To help club personnel understand what their ‘duty of care’ towards children and young people actually means and entails on a day-to-day basis.
Responsible for putting in place a safeguarding children policy, anti-bullying policy and equality policy
Responsible recruitment processes including the taking up of references and submitting FA DBS checks
Ensuring all coaches, parents and players understand and adhere to the FA Respect Programme codes of conduct
Ensuring effective communication with club officials, parents and new players by delivering 'start of season’ welcome sessions for members
Ensuring coaches and managers understand the importance of being consistent role models for their players
Participate in FA forums, surveys, questionnaires, focus groups as required
Responsible for encouraging parents to complete the Respect education programme
Ensuring all coaches, team managers, committee members and first aiders complete The FA’s Safeguarding Children Workshop
