Role Purpose
The Lead for Coach Development plays a central role in shaping a dynamic, supportive, and progressive coaching environment. This leader fosters the growth and continuous learning of coaches, ensuring that every member of the coaching team is equipped to inspire, train, and guide players at all levels. By promoting best practices and nurturing a culture of collaboration and excellence, the Lead for Coach Development strengthens both individual coaching capacity and the collective success of the club.
Role Responsibilities
Coach Education and Mentoring: Design and deliver training and mentoring programmes that advance coaches’ expertise in physical conditioning, technical instruction, tactical planning, and psychological support.
Inspiring Engagement: Promote enthusiasm and dedication among coaches by creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovative coaching experiences.
Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure all coaching practices adhere to safeguarding policies, prioritising the safety and wellbeing of players and staff.
Relationship Building: Foster strong, positive relationships among coaches, players, parents, and club staff, acting as a role model and key point of contact.
Progress Monitoring: Track coaches’ professional growth, provide meaningful feedback, and support the ongoing refinement of coaching approaches and development plans.
Championing Inclusion: Advocate for equal opportunities and inclusive coaching methods, respecting and celebrating diversity within the club.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay current with the latest trends in coaching, and actively participate in training, conferences, and learning opportunities relevant to youth football.
Club Collaboration: Work closely with all club colleagues to further the club’s mission and strengthen its ethos through effective coaching leadership.
