Kit and Equipment Officer - Mark Gorman

Role Purpose

The equipment and kit officer plays a key role in ensuring players and teams are fully prepared for training and matches by overseeing the club’s kit and equipment needs. Their purpose is to manage the distribution, collection, and maintenance of all sporting gear, uniforms, and related resources, helping to create a professional and organised environment for everyone involved.

Role Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of all kit and equipment, monitor stock levels, and ensure items are properly stored and accounted for.

  • Kit Distribution and Collection: Organise the issue of kits and equipment to teams, coaches, and players at the start of each season or as needed, and arrange for their return at the end of the season.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Check equipment regularly for wear and tear, arrange repairs or replacements, and ensure all items meet safety and quality standards.

  • Ordering and Procurement: Liaise with suppliers and club officials to order new kit and equipment, ensuring purchases are within budget and delivered on time.

  • Supporting Matches and Events: Prepare match-day kit bags, set out equipment for training sessions and fixtures, and assist with the setup and clearance of kit at club events.

  • Reporting: Inform club officials of any shortages, damage, or concerns regarding kit and equipment, and recommend improvements where necessary.

  • Promoting Club Values: Help foster a sense of pride and unity by ensuring teams are well-presented and that the club’s kit and equipment reflect its standards and ethos

With a proactive approach and attention to detail, the equipment and kit officer contributes to the club’s smooth operation, ensuring players and staff can focus on enjoying and excelling in football in a safe, organised, and supportive environment.
