Season 2025/26

Brownhills Colts End-of-Season Round-Up: A Season and Club to Be Proud Of

What a season it has been for Brownhills Colts. From success on the pitch to progress around the club, from community events to fundraising efforts, this year has shown exactly what makes Colts such a special place to play, support and belong.

It has been a fantastic season of football across the club, with plenty to celebrate. A huge congratulations goes to our Under 13s, who won the league and earned promotion after a brilliant campaign. Their hard work, commitment and team spirit have been a credit to everyone involved.

This season also saw us host our first tournament, welcoming teams from across the West Midlands to compete, connect and enjoy the Colts atmosphere. It was a proud moment for the club and a great opportunity to showcase not only our football, but also the fantastic food and hospitality from the Colts Café.

As we look ahead to next season, we are delighted to be welcoming a new ladies team and two new open age teams to the club. This is an exciting step forward and a sign of the continued growth of Brownhills Colts as a community football club for players of all ages.

Off the pitch, a huge amount of work has gone into improving our containers and compound. Volunteers have painted, started work on the girls’ changing room, built sheds and created kit rooms. There are still more projects in train for next season, including a covered seating area and painting the outside of the containers green, helping them sit more sympathetically within the countryside space we are lucky to call home.

ColtsFest was another memorable day for the club. While footfall was lower than last year, everyone who came along had a brilliant time. The feedback from our stall holders was especially pleasing, with all of them asking to be invited back next year because of the friendly welcome they received.

We have also been out in the community, attending the Thomas Project in Aldridge, where our coaches offered taster sessions and helped introduce new players to the club. It was fantastic to welcome some new signings as a result and to continue building links beyond the touchline.

Registrations are now complete, and we would like to say a big thank you to Sarah, our club secretary, for all her hard work getting everyone signed on time.

Following the success of our last quiz night, our events team are already planning the next one for October, so keep an eye out for more details.

A special mention goes to Rio, our Under 12s coach, who is running a half marathon to help fund replacement batteries and pads for the defibrillator. We will also be starting a sponsored static bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise the rest of the money needed for this essential equipment. Thank you in advance to everyone who supports these efforts, and you don’t even need to leave the compound.

None of this would be possible without our players, coaches, volunteers, committee members, parents, carers, sponsors and supporters. Whether you have coached a team, washed a kit, served in the café, painted a container, cheered from the sidelines or helped at an event, you have played a part in making this season such a success.

As we close the season, we do so with pride in what has been achieved and excitement for what is still to come. We are also pleased to welcome Riley back to the club. Riley, who leads our academy and manages the new Under 10s team, is returning from America after working at football camps and will bring plenty of fresh ideas and experience with him. Here’s to another brilliant year ahead for Brownhills Colts.
