Colts Quiz Night

A Night of Fun, Friendship, and a Fantastic Turnout

What a tremendous way to kick off our football community’s series of events! The excitement was palpable from the get-go, with families, players, and supporters streaming in to show just how strong our community spirit really is. This evening was about more than just football, it was about coming together, making memories, and setting the tone for many more gatherings to come.

The turnout exceeded all our expectations, filling the venue with laughter and lively chatter. Children darted around, delighted by the signature balloon arch. None of this would have been possible without Alex, whose tireless efforts and attention to detail ensured the evening ran smoothly. From coordinating volunteers to setting up decorations, Alex’s hard work truly shone throughout the night.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all our sponsors, and we were happy to see two of them at the Quiz, B W Tattoos and Piercing and Elite Interior Systems, the generous support of all our sponsors help make the club to thrive,  and they received a warm round of applause from attendees. We hope to welcome even more sponsors to join our growing football family in future events, your involvement makes all the difference.

The evening’s quiz competition brought out a fair bit of friendly rivalry. The Quizzards of Oz, led by our very own Coach Riley, clinched the top spot, showcasing both wit and teamwork. Not far behind were the Micky Dingles, who gave the winners a run for their money. Congratulations to all teams who took part and made it such a lively contest!

A highlight of the evening was the raffle of a signed Albion shirt, which sparked plenty of excitement. In a wonderful gesture of generosity, James, the winner offered the shirt back to the room for a £30 donation to the club, and it was quickly snapped up by one of the clubs die hard Albion fans further demonstrating the spirit of giving in our community. Special thanks go to Austin for his invaluable help with the raffle and scratch cards, his reliability and enthusiasm make him an asset to the club.

Every corner of the venue was buzzing with friendly banter, and laughter. As the evening wound down and the clean-up began, an impromptu karaoke session broke out which made even vacuuming fun. These spontaneous moments are what make us realise why our volunteers give up so much of their time for the club.

As attendees headed home, their smiling faces said it all. The sense of belonging was palpable, leaving everyone eager for the next event. Thank you to every family, friend, sponsor, and volunteer who contributed to this wonderful event. Next up will be our summer tournament in June, followed by the end of season presentation evening culminating in ColsFest on the 11th July.  We can’t wait to see what’s next and hope for even greater sponsor involvement, more competitions, and plenty more laughter.

Here’s to building a strong, happy football community - one event at a time!
